Save the Date for NHHA’s Good Neighbor Day Celebration coming up in the afternoon of Sunday, September 28th. This year we’re planning a pop-up event in the circle drive of Northwood Hills Elementary to provide an opportunity to stop by, grab a drink or snack, meet your neighbors and NHHA Board Members, and drop off donations for the RISD Clothes Closet. This organization helps preK – 12 students in financially challenging situations gain clothing they can comfortably and proudly wear. Students in need of clothing assistance are identified by either a school counselor or campus nurse. (Or a parent can contact the school to ask for clothing assistance for their student). Once identified, each student receives a week’s worth of clothes including shoes, socks, winter coat, new underwear, and toiletries, among other things. Last year, the Clothes Closet helped 744 students! If you can’t stop by during the event from 2-4pm, but still want to donate goods, just let us know! We’re happy to pick up or arrange another day/time for drop-off.
Here’s a starter list of items you can donate:
- new or like-new clean and current clothing
- new or like-new winter accessories like hats, gloves, scarves, and coats
- new or like-new school uniforms
- new or like-new bras and sports bras
- new or like-new backpacks or duffel bags
- NEW shoes (preferably athletic shoes)
- NEW underwear
- NEW socks
- toiletries (no razors, hand sanitizer, or expired toothpaste please)

We’ll see you on Sunday the 28th between 2 and 4pm! Thanks for being a Good Neighbor.
