For years, NHHA has commemorated National Good Neighbor Day in late September by celebrating our good neighbors or by being good neighbors ourselves by giving back. Past endeavors included supporting our local Dallas Fire & Rescue First Responders; donating toys to Medical City Children’s Hospital; hosting a blood drive; collecting clothes and supplies for students, and sending meals to the healthcare workers at Parkland Hospital. This year, the NHHA Board is partnering with Valley View Neighborhood Association to “adopt” the North Central police station for a day. On Saturday, September 19th, we’re planning to show appreciation for every officer working a shift – nearly 180 in total. Meals, snacks, and drinks will be provided at the beginning of each shift, through donations of goods and funds. If you can spare some time, volunteers are needed to set up, serve, and clean-up.
