Class/League Descriptions

Basic Dog Obedience

Teach your dog to respond to basic commands such as sit, stay, down, heel, come, etc. Classes will be taught outside, and will be made up if weather becomes a problem. Handlers must be at least 13 years old. Dogs must be at least 6 months and current on all shots. Call Donna Clar at 972-407-1736.

Basketball - 30 & Over Free Play

Structured open play for players aged 30+. You must have a current City of Dallas participant I. D. Card or $2 dally pass. Call Darry Davis at 214-670-6203.

Basketball - Open Play

Be Clutter Free Using Feng Shui

Beginner Bridge Lessons & Play

Beginning German

Learn the basics of the German language in this 12-week class. Participants must provide their own workbook and grammar book. Call Marvin Reiter at 214-426-4676.

Biddy Basketball

This class is for ages 5-7 or 8-12. It will introduce you to dribbling, shooting, passing, teamwork & much more. Call Cecil Smith at 214-670-6203.

Carousel Round Dance Club

This class practices round dancing, which Is controlled ballroom dancing with the figures being choreographed & cued to music. Call Paul Goodson at 972-276-9381.

Chess Club

Come join this group of beginner chess players and improve your moves and strategies. More advanced players are also welcome, and basic skills are taught through game play. Age 9-15. Call Darry Davis at 214-670-6203.

Chess Tournament

This tournament is a double elimination tournament, and is designed for recreational and competitive players. Age 9-15. Call Darry Davis at 214-670-6203.

Co-Ed Volleyball League

Class A/B+ level play for an 8 team league. Teams will referee their own league games. First games set up the nets, last games take them down. All teams will go to single elimination playoffs with awards for first and second place teams. All playoff games will have referees provided - teams will not referee playoff games. Creative Clay & Cartoon Drawing

Make, bake & glaze clay items, and learn how to draw some favorite cartoon characters. This class offers a good introduction to beginning drawing. Age 6-12. Call Betty Babaa at 214-348-1127.

Dealing with Peer Pressure

Open discussion format focusing on problem solving and peer pressure. Gives young teens and parents the opportunity to talk to each other outside of school and home. Age 13-16. Call Christine Lugo at 214-670-6203.

Deep Water Workout

Water Aerobics for any ability. You don't have to be a swimmer to participate in this class, but you do need to provide a flotation device. One hour for a complete workout - warm up, aerobics, stretching, toning and cool down. Call Shirley Aguilar at 972-931-1641.

Defensive Driving - 55 Alive AARP

This class does not dismiss traffic tickets, but does allow an insurance discount. Age: 55 and older. To register, please call 214-670-6203

Fretz Holiday Discovery Camp

Travel, fun, museums, and much more! Come join this camp that visits the major Metroplex attractions such as The Studios at Las Colinas, the Dallas Zoo, the Omni Theater, and more. Each camp week consists of 4 days because of Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Each camper must bring a sack lunch, drink, and clothing appropriate for outdoor activities daily. The camp fee is $95 per week or $30 per day. A non-refundable non-transferable deposit per child per week Is required to reserve your child's space. Fretz Senior Activities and Trips

Join us for monthly trips around the Metroplex and beyond! Trips include transportation and the cost of tickets, etc. Monthly luncheons & other activities are held at the Fretz Center and are listed in our Senior Newsletter. Jacki's Aerobic Dance

Karate Aerobics 2000

If you like Tae Bo, you will love Karate Aerobics! This class is a combination of boxing, karate, and aerobics and provides a high impact workout. Become physically fit, lose weight, gain strength, tone your muscles, and increase your will power.

Learn to Rock Climb

This is a basic introduction to the sport of rock climbing, & will be held at REI on their climbing wall. Students will start with getting a feel for the wall and progress with gear needs. Climbers should wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement and athletic shoes. Climbing shoe rental is available at REI for an additional fee of $3. Total class time includes transportation to and from REI, with actual time on the wall from 4-6 p.m.

Low Impact Aerobics

Men's Semi-Pro Basketball League

Competitive 9-team basketball league. The top 6 teams advance to single elimination playoffs, and awards will be given to first and second place.

Morning Exercise Class

Piano Class

Preschool Crafts Class

Women's Basketball League

Yawara Judo

The objectives of this class are as follows: to teach the sport of Judo, to instill pride in one's self, to teach respect and to teach goal setting and common sense in self-defense. Call Charlie Laney at 214-467-0693.

Youth Crafts Class

Camp Descriptions

FRETZ STAY-N-PLAY CAMP

This camp is for children ages 7-14. It meets Monday Friday from 8:30-5:30 p.m. and includes activities such as swimming, sports, arts and crafts, games and weekly special events. A nonrefundable/ non- transferable deposit per week per child is required to reserve your child's space. The deposit is part of the camp fee. Each camper must bring a sack lunch / drink and swim wear daily.

SUMMER CHEER ! CAMP

This class will consist of the learning of cheers, chants, jumps, stunts and a pom routine. At the end of each class we'll have free swim period except on Friday. On Friday we'll have a demonstration / show for the parents during the last 40 minutes.

FRETZ DISCOVERY CAMP

Travel, sun, water parks, and more. Come join this camp that visits the major Metroplex attractions such as Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, Ft. Worth and Dallas Zoo and much more. This camp is for children ages 7-14 and it meets Monday - Friday from 8:30- 5:30 p.m. Each camper must bring a sack lunch / drink and swim wear daily. BOBBY MOFFAT SOCCER CAMP

BMSC offers young soccer players, age's 9-19 years the opportunity to improve their skills, tactics, offense and defense. The English FA with extensive soccer camp experience certifies the coaches and staff . This camp will be held at Fretz Park .

SKYHAWKS FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP

MUSICAMP

Musicampers will explore their world using song, dance, art, musical games, literature and rhythm and rhymes. Each camper needs to bring a sack lunch and drink daily. This camp is for children age 4-8 and it meets Monday -Friday from 10 - 2 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Dig, Set and Spike ! It's time for volleyball camp ! This camp is designed for boys and girls in the six through twelfth grade - (ages 12-18). You will learn the basics of volleyball hitting, setting, spiking, offense and defense positions and strategies.

SKYHAWKS MINI HAWK CAMP

This is an introductory sports program for young children, age 4-7 yr. The Mini-Hawk program promotes a philosophy of fun while learning soccer, baseball and basketball. This camp introduces children to the basic sports skills of these three sports.

YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP

All boys and girls camp participants Will learn basic passing, shooting, and offense and defense skills through drills and small side games. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and meet and greet current and former NBA players & guests. Note: Children will receive a lunch.

ART CAMP

Enjoy creative clay and expand your imagination with cartoon drawing of some favorite characters, plus develop your own characters and story line. Boys and girls ages 6-12 years are invited. Camp meets Monday through Friday 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Fees due on first day of class.

PIANO CAMP

Get a good beginning in learning to read music and play piano. Students advance at own age and skill level and may wish to continue in further summer sessions and / or all sessions of once a week classes.

SEND A KID TO CAMP COTTONWOOD PARK - DALLAS

The Send A Kid To Camp program makes summer day camp wishes come true for thousands of Dallas area youth each year. This seven-week camp is for boys and girls age 6-17.

It operates Monday - Friday from 9:30-4:30 p.m. at Cottonwood Park - Dallas. The Summer Lunch Program will provide free healthy lunches to all participants. Our staff supervised and structured activities include; sports, arts and crafts, cultural and educational programs and more!

WATER WORKOUT

Totally different low impact aerobic class - exercise in the water. The class is taught In shallow and deep water and you don't have to be a swimmer to participate. A great toning and stretching class.

JUNIOR PLAYERS THEATER ARTS CAMP

Acting, costumes, lights and fun=Drama. This 10-day camp uses theater arts to help children develop self-esteem and verbal abilities. Boys and girls ages 7-14 may register. This camp is conducted by the Junior Players Guild and will take place Monday Friday from 10:00 -12 noon, Cost: FREE. Limited enrollment. REGISTRATION INFORMATION CALL: 214-670-6203.

FRETZ JUNIOR GOLF CLUB

This program is designed for youth that are serious about golf and wants to attend golf clinics this summer at L.B. Houston Golf Course. These clinics are limited to 8 golfers.

SKYHAWK BASKETBALL CAMP

This Skyhawks basketball camp teaches beginner's skills and tactics as well as refining skills of intermediate players.

FRETZ PARK TRACK CLUB

This track club will be practicing twice a week and participating in several track meets in the Dallas area.

SKYHAWKS BASEBALL / SOFTBALL CAMP

This camp is designed for beginner to intermediate players. It teaches players the skills required to participate in youth baseball and softball.
