By using a special reader, you can get regular, updated information -- including news and newsletter subscriptions -- from multiple web sites, all in one place. No more running from site to site to see if there are updates you are interested in. Northwood Hills' web site now has an RSS feed. There's a good non-technical explanation of RSS on ReallySimpleSyndication.com
RSS feeds are coded in eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and are thus not designed to be read by ordinary web browsers or e-mail programs; you "subscribe" via a special reader called an aggregator. Some aggregators are plug-ins for web browsers or e-mail programs like Microsoft's Outlook, and allow you to subscribe to the feeds that interest you without having to give any information to the publisher (such as your e-mail address). The method of how you subscribe depends on what aggregator you have, but it's as simple as clicking (or right-clicking) on the orange "RSS" box ( Why are we offering such a feed? One word: spam. Spammers are making e-mail a hostile environment. Instead of getting the information and mail you want, spammers steal resources to send out tens of millions of junk mails per day to people who don't want it, all in hopes of convincing some moron to send them money, often for nothing. Some day, we'll tell you how we really feel about them. Here are some places to get you started (as always, outside links open in a new window). The aggregators shown here are reported to properly render the Northwood Hills feed. (If you know of a reader which renders the feed correctly and is not shown here, please let us know.
