Parade FAQ
- Who can participate?
Anyone who wants to! You don't have to be a member of the Homeowners Association, although we'd love to have you as a member! Many residents invite their children (and grandchildren) to participate. The redder, whiter and bluer you are, the better. Even your family pets are welcome (make sure they have enough water to drink!)
- Is this a race?
No! It's hot enough in Texas in July. Please take your time, and enjoy the shade from our beautiful trees.
- Where do I go?
Please gather at Northwood Hills Elementary School beginning at 9:30. If you want to march in the parade, be sure to get your number, so the judges can award a prize.
- When does it start?
The parade begins at 10am, and ends when the last person arrives at the end. It's not a race!
- How long is the route?
About one mile.
- If I get tired or hot, is there a shortcut to the finish?
Yes! When you see Cliffbrook and Briar Cove, you can take a right turn (cutting off a few hundred yards).
- Is this just a parade?
No! After the parade, you'll find lots to entertain the kids (of all ages!) on the grounds of Northwood Hills Elementary: a MoonWalk (bounce house); Photo Buttons; a dunking booth and more. NHE Pack 585 Cub Scouts will sell hot dogs, sno-cones and drinks!
- Don't you need a permit for a parade?
Yes, and every year the NHHA obtains the permit. We do it by the books!
